Baby Boy

Whilst having a tidy round I found several CD Rom's I have had for years and probably never used, determined to at least make 1 card I selected this image for a baby card.Tattered Lace alphabet Dies and several embossing folders and here it is.

Has any-one else had calls purporting to be from Microsoft saying you have a problem with your computer, I usually just hang up but yesterday I asked the caller which computer he meant as we had several in our home, when he asked how many I said 5 ( hubby says there are 6, he and James have a laptop as well as a Desktop I have 1 and there is 1 in my elder son's old bedroom which he uses when home) The caller said "you are lying madam" some scam when they accuse you of lying that really makes their call seem legitimate,

  1. A beautiful card Marianne and the image is so cute. I really like the distressed layers.

We get lots of scam calls Marianne. At least he called you madam!!! I had one recently where he finished with "I hope you die tonight" I think I have quite a thick skin but that really shook me up. Barbxx

P.s. Your note about the phone call. Yes a friend here in Cyprus had one a while ago. He is very very old and doesn't really understand computers so he gave them all his details as he was having a PC problem. His wife thought he was on the putor a long time. When she realised what he done she went crazy!!! Sadly it was the weekend whe n Cyprus banks crashe d and they were all closed they couldn't stop anything. Lost an awful lot of money poor souls.....lesson learnt for all of us. Put the phone down or say Busy I'll ring you back!!! They don't like that. Cheek calling you a liar.....we have five also xx

  4. Hi Meg,I get these calls all the time and there are scams, Microsoft would never cold calls like that. I get so angry that I'm no longer polite, I usually respond with the phrase that ends in off.
Lovely your wonderful card the images are so sweet and colourful, Kate x

  5. Gorgeous card Meg - so cute!

A normally savvy friend of mine got caught out a couple of years ago with that scam. She gave them her card details and within a few minutes of the end of the call thought to phone us. First off I told her to get onto the bank and stop her debit card (needless to say one payment had swiftly been taken but at least it stopped any more) - then we brought her laptop here for Len to thoroughly clean it etc. just in case. They actually had taken over access remotely, which is all the more scarey! To this day she feels pretty dumb about the whole thing :( We've got about eight computers here - I have three and lose count of Len's. So that cheeky oik wasn't even up to date with households nowadays. And I bet he wasn't from the UK either?! Good for you, being on the ball!!

    Hugs

    Di xx

  6. This is really lovely Meg, the different embossed layers look fantastic and that sweet little image is adorable (hangs head in shame...I have recently discovered some cd Roms that haven't been out of the cellophane, so you're not alone!!). What a cheeky cold caller...you shut him up though by the sound of it...well done!! xx

  10. Lovely card Meg. Love the distressed edges.
Thank you for joining in with us.
I have had those callers as well but had a different one the other day. He wanted to talk to me about my washing machine and started to ask questions. I replied that my washing machine and anything else was none of his business. At this point he shouted at me - really shouted - Aren't you going to let me finish what I was saying. At this point I lost my cool. No one speaks to me in my own house like that. Have now had an all singing all dancing call blocker gadget delivered by Amnazon. Guaranteed to work.

  14. This card is just amazing, Meg! It will be a forever keepsake for baby!! I'm glad you didn't get hooked by the *&*^ scammers. We woke up this morning, turned on our PC, went to plug in the coffee, came back and Windows 10 was being uploaded!! We have diligently exed out of every pop-up as we don't want it!! Apparently people have no say in the matter any more and Microsoft is running a dictatorship. I'm hopping mad, but there's nothing to be done now. Sorry, thanks for letting me vent!! Hugs, Darnell

I tell them I dont have a computer, I have a computer, laptop and ipad, my hubby cant use a computer and say he does not want to, I had a call sometime ago and the foreign voice asked to speak to my computer, after saying I did not have one he put the phone down, I was actually standing next to it and said to the computer "you only understand four letter words, he's got not chance of you understand him".

Love the image and the embossed layers look really fab!
Mum has had calls from Microsoft… but thankfully I've warned her about them and so she just hangs up straight away. So many scams around nowadays… is a real pain.
    Hope you are keeping well
