Christmas Challenges

Digi from Joanna Sheen House Mouse Project Book with CD volume 2
Spellbinder Die

Mixed weather here today bright sunshine with heavy showers, best indoors crafting.
I received a letter yesterday from the bank advising they were closing my local branch and transferring my accounts to a neighbouring town, I decided that if they were doing this it was time to review our banking arrangements and move accounts to a different bank. An hour later and having spoken to at least 5 people from customer services I was no further forward in ascertaining the penalty for closing a fixed term ISA. Everyone I spoke to appeared helpful until the call was transferred and you were still not put through to the correct department.
Feeling a lot less frustrated I called again this morning and eventually asked to make a formal complaint as yet again I was given different information and still not connected to the correct department, This proved to be worthwhile, they have just called back, upheld my complaint and offered to wave the penalty, give me £20 in compensation for the time spent on the phone, and are sending a bouquet of flowers. I am so sorry they are closing my local branch, living in a rural area I know all the staff personally and having been the District Nurse/Midwife visited many of them in a professional capacity. Face to face contact is far better than a telephone service centre and the local staff have been so helpful over the years. Enough of my rant  apologies for it.

Enjoy

The card colours are not as vivid as they appear here, the bow is a soft yellow and the green strip a softer shade.

Many thanks to my followers who make regular comments and to those who have recently become followers, I appreciate all of your comments and enjoy my visits to your blogs .I haven't been  crafting much in the last week or so most of the cards I am posting have been in my drafts folder for a short while.

I spent last Friday with my elder son in Aberdeen, catching the 7.11 train and returning home on the  20.22. We are about 30 min from the station so it was a long day, it would take me about an hour and a quarter to drive in, but parking in Aberdeen for the day costs more than the train fare .We met for breakfast at Frankie and Benny's then did some shopping before heading for the pictures where we saw Pitch Perfect and then Far From the Madding Crowd which I really enjoyed. Visits to the cinema are made more pleasant by the fact that going with my son means it's free as he works for them.it was after 5 pm by then so we had dinner together before I caught the train home.

Best Wishes

A simple card today, I'm pleased with the result and it didn't take long to put together. Bright with some sunshine, so I had a short time in the garden transplanting some young summer flowering plants, they self seed so hopefully by next year we will have a splash of purples and pinks.

Baby Boy

Stamp from Forever Friends ( never used before ) coloured with Flexmarkers
Embossing Folders from Sizzix

I kept this card quite flat for posting, I hope the distressed and glittered edges add interest, I also placed a flat back pearl in a button, just something a little different.

Tonic Die

We had a miserable start to the day, but by 11.00 it had brightened up and now feels warm in the sunshine. The chores are done and the dog has been out for a decent walk and there's still no sign of no. 2 son. Why do teenagers stay up all night and miss out on beautiful days?

I layered a black lattice mat onto the black base card and sadly it doesn't show up that well, I did try it on rust card first but didn't like it. In real life it is much more obvious.
