In The Garden
I had a few last minute cards to make so used some Hunkydory Little Book toppers teamed with papers from Kameo cards and Creative Crafting World, A Winter Walk in the Countryside CD .
I think I have everything organised now, just last minute food shopping to do, the family finish on the 23rd for 3 days hubby says he will collect them when they finish work, so we will probably eat out in Aberdeen before heading home.
Thanks to everyone who has visited and left comments on my posts I appreciate the time you have taken to do this.

Twas the Night before Christmas
Twas the Night before Christmas is Jocelyn's choice this week at CD Sunday so lots of interpretations of the theme to choose from, please join in, as long as there is an element that has been printed from a Cd, and you name the Cd you used you can enter the challenge.
My topper is from Hunkydory the plaid from Kameo Cards and the paper with stars from Creative Crafting World A Winter Walk in the Countryside CD.

This sweet image was on a free Cd from Making Cards earlier this year. I teamed him with embossed backgrounds , the folder's from Crafter's Companion, Lili of the Valley digi sentiments and some tartan ribbon. When I looked at it after adding the sentiment tags I thought it would have made a great New Years card.
Welcome to Maureen my newest follower,I hope you enjoy your visits.

Jingle All The Way
Hoping this finds you all well, tank you to my followers for their continuing support and comments, they are much appreciated. A quick card for today a simple layout using an image and papers from The House Mouse Triple CD Rom from Joanna Sheen.
I am almost ready for Christmas just waiting on several items my son ordered from Amazon, as usual dealing with Amazon (10 items ordered) has not been easy. Despite all the items being in stock and all are due to arrive tomorrow, they split the order in 3 , they called payment for the 1st part of the order , they then called for the 2nd part of the payment and e-mailed requesting we update the card details as the payment had been declined, on phoning the Bank they said no payment had been requested , somehow during a conversation with Customer Services at Amazon the payment was successfully completed, no new details given. Yes when the called for the 3rd part, the same problem, Bank again said no payment had been requested , hubby confirmed the card details with Customer Services and miraculously the payment went through. then today an e-mail saying the 3rd item was ready to dispatch and they would be calling the payment down, despite already having it. A shambles to say the least, why on earth they split the order into 3 parts I don't know and they were unwilling to give any explanation. Enough moaning from me.

Image from The House Mouse Triple CD Sentiment from TLC. Some more simple quick cards for the children on the school bus.
Robin with Poinsettia
I love these Stampendous stamps, so I'll not make any excuses for using the robin again. I used Promarkers with Flexmarkers to colour the stamped image.
Sorry the photo is a bit bright.

Another quick card with a simple layout for today, the image again from the Making cards Christmas Special, teamed with a Crafter's Companion Embossing Folder. Love this sweet image, all the others in the set are equally beautiful I'm so glad I managed to get the magazine.
A beautiful sunny frosty morning so the washing is on just a small load as I managed to get everyone's washing done before we came home, we had free 24 hr. access laundry facilities a real boost.

Firstly, apologies to any followers I have not caught up with yet, I will visit asap.
We had a fantastic holiday with the temperatures up in the high 70's F /low 80's F, it did make it tiring as it was also quite humid some days.( I didn't expect it to be as warm and locals said it was warmer than normal for the time of year)
We squeezed as much in as possible and hardly took time to relax there was so much to do and see.
On a visit to the Florida Mall I saw a Father Christmas Grotto it was so strange to see a him fully dressed in his suit with fur trim in the blazing sunshine, not at all Christmassy. We returned to clear skies and a hard frost a bit of a shock.
I now need to work on finishing my Christmas cards, so a simple design and layout today. The image is from the Making cards Christmas Special, I thought I had missed out on it but managed to get it in Aberdeen the day we left. The embossing folders are both from Crafter's Companion.

I have scheduled this post, my second for the Ooh La La design team just in case there are any delays on our flights home. Even if not, I'm sure travelling for so long and the time change will mean having a long lie to help adjust.
This cheery rooster is from The Shawn Jenkins Cd and is for one of us to give to husband/dad for his birthday. It's a beautiful image the colours are so rich, and the image really detailed. All I added was a piece of embossed kraft card the sentiment and some twine.
Please visit the Ooh La La blog and join in for Wynn's choice of challenge Birthday Celebrations.

Sparkle and Shine
Welcome to another challenge at CD Sunday and Wynn's choice Sparkle and Shine. Most of us will be concentrating on Christmas cards now, so no excuse not to sparkle and shine. Remember to use something from a CD and to note which CD you used in your post.
My backing paper comes from a very old Cd, Popcorn the Bear Christmas Collection from Crafter's Companion. I found the paper amongst those I had printed previously and knew it was from Crafter's Companion but had to search through my CD's to identify which one it was from.
The die is from Tonic and James is from Lili of the Valley.
Please visit CD Sunday to see the teams great cards then why not join in.
Monday, 7 November 2016
This is a scheduled post, so fingers crossed it publishes when it's meant to.I am especially excited about it as this is my first post for the Ooh La La design team, thank you ladies for the invitation to join you and making me so very welcome.
The theme for this challenge was chosen by Pauline and is vintage, all the papers are from The Shawn Jenkins CD, unusually for me there is no image and the only thing not from the Cd is the baubles which were cut and embossed using a sizzix set. please pay a visit to the challenge at Ooh La La and see the variety of vintage cards made by the design team.
I found I had a little time on my hands the day we were leaving on holiday so made a second card for the challenge.
Sunday, 30 October 2016
This week I selected Father Christmas as the theme at CD Sunday There are loads of Father Christmas stamps and digis to choose from ( so this should be an easy challenge) and this stamp is from Stampendous. My Cd element is the green backing paper from Crafter's Companion Nordic Christmas.
As long as your card has an element from a Cd you can join in with us. Pop over to the blog to see the other DT member's cards, I'm sure you will love them.

This image was on a free CD which came with an issue of Making Cards earlier this year, it contains all of 2015's papers and images from 2015 and was a great buy, I've found loads of images and papers I will use.
I love the colours and design of this image of a fawn and as the weather is still autumnal chose papers to match the season. Papers from Crafter's Companion Inspiration CD No. 11 the Autumn Edition.
My lovely boys have organised a surprise holiday in Florida for us all and gave me 1 weeks notice to get organised, we leave midweek and have a night in London ( going to see Aladdin the musical) then off to warmer weather, the temperature forecast is for the low 20's it will be lovely to leave the colder days and enjoy the warmth. Apologies in advance I will be unable to visit and leave comments (any form of blogging is forbidden) but will enjoy catching up when I get home. I do hope they let me sneak away to have time for some craft shopping
lovely to get new stash especially if you can team it with existing stuff

Welcome to the World
This is a card made with a specific person in mind, they know they are having a boy hence the colours I chose, the white space on both sides at the base of the image will be used to place die cut letters of the babe's name and date of birth, I've added a name digitally to the example below to show the idea, but will use die cuts on the actual card.
Many thanks to those who visit and leave comments, love reading them and appreciate the time you take to leave them.

Wrapped with Love
I printed this image the other day when I was using my House Mouse Cd for my last card and made a quick simple card this afternoon. The sentiment is from the Desert Diva and seemed to fit the image perfectly. The little mouse is almost lost under the huge pile of presents that appear to be beautifully wrapped.

Get Well Soon
It's always handy to have a get well card ready to post and this image is from Joanna Sheen's House Mouse Triple CD, the mouse with the leg injury doesn't seem at all upset at having a bandage applied. I've kept my card really simple for posting and because the image is quite large. The sentiment is from the desert diva who generously offers free sentiments on her blog at least a couple of times a month.
A dull day here so I'm off to do some grocery shopping and have a coffee in Huntly.

This Challenge we are fortunate to have Sharon Duncan as a sponsor. Sharon Duncan has previously sponsored some challenges when we had a prize from a sponsor, and thanks to Pamela contacting her has generously agreed to sponsor this challenge the team, using her Playful Pups Cd.
Remember that to enter and be considered for the prize you must use an element from a Cd and give that Cd credit in your post.
I used 2 of the backing papers with a tonic die, my dog has a "made with love"charm but I'm afraid it doesn't show up against his body.
Pop over and see the teams cards for inspiration.

All Spruced up for Christmas
It seems as though my cards my most recent Christmas makes all feature birds and this is yet another. CAS in style this time coloured with Promarkers and featuring another Stampendous stamp, I smudged the tail feathers , but hopefully managed to disguise the mistake by incorporating the smudge into the tail feathers. Sentiment from TLC

It was a beautiful day yesterday, we spent most of it in the garden tidying up before the weather changes, it's totally satisfying to see the effects of your hard work, I've still to pick the apples and pears from the trees, this has been a great year for them, but will leave that as long as possible, then some will be cooked and frozen and some made into chutneys. My diary is also pretty full for the next 2 weeks, meeting with friends and relatives I haven't seen for a while.
Thank you for your much appreciated comments on my last few cards, I do enjoy reading them.
Today's card is another for the Christmas box which is filling up quite nicely.

The Little Things
I try to have a few thank you cards ready to pop in the post and although the sentiment is "it's the little things" I would use this to say thank you too.
http://asyoulikeitchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2016/10/favourite-flowers-die-cut-or-bought-why.html I favour die cut flowers because they can be cut from papers used in the card

Almost the same as my robin card from last week, I liked the layout I used on it so a few minor changes in the addition of an image from The Best of La Pashe 2012 and fussy cutting the cardinal.
I used Promarkers again but found colouring this stamp much more difficult using only shades of red and some black/grey around the face. I looked at several photographs of cardinals to help me with the shading.
Many thanks to those who visit and continue to leave comments I really appreciate each one.

This image is from The Big One from La Pashe and is a CAS card consisting of just the image an embossing folder doily and a bow.
Hope you can join in with us.

Robin with Holly
A pleasant morning with a definite hint of autumn, we missed the high winds and rain last night so it's not too cold.
Another Christmas card today one which features one of my favourite birds a robin.
The stamp is from Stampendous and I coloured it with Promarkers the holly stamp comes with the set as well as 2 other birds.A variety of embossing folders and a doily die cut completed the card.
http://pixiescraftyworkshop.blogspot.co.uk/2016/09/pixies-snippets-playground-week-248.html managed to use up some of the white scraps of card I'm left with after using large pieces for layering

My cards today reflect what, autumn means to me, the warm colours and lazier days, sitting at the fire at night and feeling cosy.
I have 2 cards to share , total opposites in terms of colour and design but both are autumnal.
The above card has the warm colours which I love and the card below a lazy image, enjoying a rest outside before winter arrives.

Snow is Falling
Another Christmas card to add to the box it's starting to fill quite nicely now. It's been lovely weather here for the past 4 weeks, and we are having some much needed rain this afternoon, not too heavy though and hopefully will give the ground a good soaking.
James stamp and sentiments from Lili of the Valley James coloured with Promarkers.

It's time for a new challenge at CD Sunday and Pauline has chosen "Shades of Autumn" this fortnight Don't forget.to use something from a CD somewhere, however small, in the making of your card or project and give the CD credit.
This adorable fox is from the Jayne Netley Mayhew Digistamps CD Rom and the papers from a Tonic Christmas pad, I loved the colours and thought they would be perfect for an autumn card.

A Little Bird Told Me
Another promising day, we've had beautiful weather which has meant I've been busy outside . We had some bad news at the beginning of the month and I didn't feel much like crafting, apologies to those I follow for a lack of comments.
I had a play yesterday and this card using a House Mouse image from the Triple CD from Joanna Sheen a Crafter's Companion Embossing Folder and a sentiment from Lili of the Valley. I decoupaged the holly leaves, it was a quick make as I kept it really simple using the sketch from SSW2 as inspiration
http://asyoulikeitchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2016/08/favourite-shaped-cardbase-why.html I love the symmetry of the square card but like the added interest the scallop edges give

Hot Hot Hot
Welcome to Jocelyn's challenge at CD Sunday this week and the topic is Hot Hot Hot. Please join in and remember to use something from a CD.
My poor "sunburnt" mouse is form Joanna Sheen House Mouse Triple CD Rom and the papers from Nitwit Collections. Despite being so close to the light bulb the mouse looks quite relaxed, do you remember when small uv sun ray lamps were all the rage in the early 70's.
Pop over and see the teams great cards then get on your thinking cap and join in.

This fun image and papers were free with the August edition of Making Cards Magazine, Usually freebies can lie untouched for a long time, but on this occasion I decided a bright summery card would cheer me up, the weather here is dull and overcast. I wont be out in the garden today.
Sunday, 31 July 2016
Good afternoon all, we have a beautiful day , sunny but not too hot, great for working out of doors. We were out for a few hours earlier and are heading into the garden again now. Thank you for all your lovely comments on my last card I read and appreciate each one.
A House Mouse card again today with Nitwit papers and the new Lili of the Valley digis.
Tuesday, 26 July 2016
Good morning from a dry and sunny part of Scotland, we had frequent but thankfully short lived heavy showers yesterday accompanied by thunder and lightening so it was lovely to wake up to the sunshine today.
Had a day shopping in Aberdeen yesterday but didn't buy a single thing not like me but I didn't see anything I liked.
A House Mouse card today, CAS for posting, I added a border of Nitwit Collections paper before printing and made the twine colouring crochet cotton and twisting it together with the plain white, surprisingly it didn't unravel when cut. This will probably go to my younger son next month.

Fab "n" Feminine
Welcome to Wynn's challenge choice this week at CD Sunday " Fab n Feminine " so lots of CD's to choose from, loads have fantastic feminine images. As long as you use a CD somewhere in your creation, it doesn't need to be the focal point, you can play along.
This image and papers are from one of the older MCS CD's but is from a period I love the fashion from, All I added was a die cut, several poinsettia, some die cut some I bought.
