Our moving day was a disaster, packed vans ready to go,but our buyers funds didn't reach us till 4.30 despite being available at 10am,their solicitor didn't transfer them until the last moment, despite our buyer phoning them several times and them promising to complete the transfer before 12.30.
Of course the office for the property we were buying shut at 4pm ,after lots of negotiations between our solicitor and our vendor they agreed to wait till 5pm and it was just after then when hubby got the keys. By 4pm we thought it wasn't going to happen and rearranged for our furniture to be delivered on Monday the guys had been waiting for 5 hours.
Before I left the old house our buyers who had travelled from South of London arrived thinking all was ok,I'd been advised not to allow them access until the funds had cleared so they weren't happy.
So we have no furniture feel frustrated with the system and are exhausted.Hopefully things can only get better.

Oh no what a nightmare. There must be a better way of doing this. Our house was all.packed up last time as I was working the 2 days prior to.move and at 4pm the night before their solicitor delayed a week. I had a 3 and 1 year old at the time so it was a nightmare and I vowed I would be making this one my forever home!
I'm so sorry to hear this Meg, how frustrating for you - I hope everything goes to plan on Monday.

Oh Meg that's awful! Could it have been any more stressful! How are you managing without any seats and beds until Monday? I hope Monday comes around quickly for you and you'll soon be settled and able to forget the nightmare.

Oh no Meg! How awful for you, I'd have been furious too. Hope you manage to survive the weekend without your furniture and nothing else goes wrong, surely things HAVE to get better.
Sending hugs

Oh Meg, how frustrating and stressful for you. No wonder you're exhausted. How on earth can these things be allowed to happen? I do hope your weekend is not too uncomfortable and that once the furniture arrives on Monday, you can put all this behind you and start living your life. Sending hugs, Vicky x
OMGosh Meg, that's just awful for you, and the other family. It sounds to me like a solicitor not doing his work properly. No wonder you are exhausted, moving house is stressful enough with out something like this going on. I hope it all goes smoothly from now on, Hugs Kate x
Oh no that's terrible Meg!! They say it's on the top stress list and no wonder when things like that happen and they could have been avoided by those with the power! Hopefully it will be smooth sailing for here.
Oh no, thats awful. I hope that things go much better from now on in, Hazel xx
Hi Meg
So sorry to hear your move is such a nightmare .. .. you never imagine things not going through at the last minute do you.
I hope you are coping OK. You must be wishing the time away until Monday when your furniture arrives.
It must have been very scary for you to have to tell your buyers they couldn't have access!
Hopefully things can only get better for you!
I don't think I will tell my Sister of your plight! She was due to move house yesterday, and now it is supposed to be Wednesday as all the paperwork hadn't been finalised!
Love Jules xoxo
So very sorry that you have had all these problems, hope things work out well in the end.

Nightmare, I hope you can get your furniture and get into your new home properly
I had a similar problem many years ago, moving into a new house, the solicitor had put the funds into the letter box of the bank days before, at 4.30 the builders came and stopped us moving in saying they had not been paid, fanatic calls to our solicitor we found out the bank had not opened their letter box for days, our money was stuck in the bank. The builders let us stay in the property after the solicitor gave a grantee but we had no keys, which meant we could not leave the house unlocked so one of us had to stay in all the time until Monday when the bank finally transferred the money.
What an awful situation for you Meg, hope all goes well on Monday and that you are soon settled xx
Dreadful situation, we had something similar with one of our moves. Hope you will settle in your new home. Anesha
So sorry all of this happened Meg, hopefully thing will go better and you have a great week ahead!

Your experience definitely sounds frustrating! Moving is stressful enough without additional issues getting in the way. Hope you love your new place!
