For a Child at Crafty Calendar

Hi and welcome to my post for the new  Challenge at Crafty Calendar. This month at Crafty Calendar we are sponsored by A Day for Daisies and the theme is for a child. I used Easter Bunny Delivery, and part paper pieced the image finishing off with Promarkers. Paper from Nitwit Collections and sentiment from Paulette at TLC

Do drop in to be inspired the DT cards for this month, hope to see you there.

Spots and or Stripes at Crafty Calendar

This month at Crafty Calendar we are sponsored by A Day for Daisies who are offering a $12 gift card as this months prize. The theme is dots, stripes or both, I chose Amy Hen (blue apron) and teamed her with Mary hen which I already had. Added just a little colour to their bodies using Promarkers. My elder son often says "just checkin in" when he phones home, so I used that as my sentiment, home means getting all your meals cooked for you and I loved the idea of hens wearing and apron.

Do drop in to be inspired the DT cards for this month, hope to see you there.

CD Sunday Birthday Challenge

CD Sunday are celebrating their 6th Birthday with a different kind of challenge, you are being asked to select a card from a  previous challenge and show it again. Not nearly as simple as it sounds I spent ages going over cards and almost gave up. In the end I selected this one which I previously posted here my daughter-in-law chose this style of dress when she and my son were married last year.

Thank You

First a big Thank You to the CD Sunday team for inviting me to contribute as a Guest Designer for the next 3 months.  I try and participate in their challenge regularly and am delighted to contribute.

The challenge for today, chosen by Carol is "Gorgeous Gowns "

When I received the challenge guidelines I decided to make a Thank You card for my new daughter-in-law's work colleagues who helped her achieve a 50's look for her wedding day. I believe this is called a swing and jive dress now, and is what she wore with a huge petticoat giving a full skirted appearance. She looked stunning, when they decided to have a very small wedding they didn't stick to any traditions at all.

I found paper piecing this digi quite easy apart from the tiny bows on the shoulder which were really fiddly.
