Go Vegetarian

I have 2 cards in today's post the above where I used really bright bold fun papers ( not my usual choice ) to complement my digi and the second very clean and simple. I love the image he has no idea what's in front of him.
We're having a really heavy shower of rain at the moment it's quite dull and much cooler than it has been.

Deep in Thought

I have very few girly girl friends or family members but decided to make a card suitable for a female but not make it too girly.I hope I have succeeded in this.

Had a great day out yesterday meeting my eldest son in Aberdeen, shopping having lunch and going to the pictures seeing him twice within two weeks is a record for me, as I had to transport James the 10 miles to school and home again at night it didn't leave time for a trip to Aberdeen. I love living in the country but we are 10/11 miles away from any public transport and the school James went to was in Moray not Aberdeenshire where we live.

Christmas Choir

It's a long time since I did any decoupage but I thought it would make a change from stamping.

I was out with my younger son yesterday, he was attempting to use the vouchers for WH Smith he received at prize giving, they had to be used for books and the selection was really poor. I ended up buying them from him and using them. They did have Papermania 12x12 card stock ( 60 Sheets) on sale for £5.49 and I bought this as well.

In the Garden

A gardening card for a man I hate men's cards and find them so difficult, I cut the image separating the wellington boots placing the right boot slightly over and in front of the left. We've been busy preparing firewood for next year 2015, cutting now means it has plenty of time to dry out, but we've 25 tons to get through, cut split and store in the wood shed. It'll probably take a few hours a day for several weeks.

Rudolph

Another card to add to the Christmas box, the 52CCT challenge are looking for cards with Rudolph and Jingle Bells for a card based on a story. When the boys were young we had several Christmas books including Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer written by Robert L May in 1939. We started reading these books a couple of weeks before Christmas, both boys still remember those evenings and for the last few years my elder son has treated the family to a night out in Aberdeen, on Christmas Eve, where a small private picture house shows a traditional Christmas film a Wonderful Life and Scrooge are 2 we have seen.

Probably an unusual colour for Father Christmas's suit but I think I like the contemporary look. I used an old sketch from 52 Christmas Card Throwdown keeping the layout simple.

Keeping Warm

I've had a quiet couple of days apart from taking my younger son out for shopping, lunch and to the pictures. We saw Devils Knot which is based on a true event. I found it compelling, it showed the American Justice system in a very poor light. When I got home I checked the facts on the internet and found several documentaries had been made about this tragedy. The film we saw didn't have great reviews which I found surprising.

Christmas Wreath

I struggled to decide what to do for the Challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown this week, I didn't want to use a red green coloured stamp/digi image I've been trying really hard to use up all those small leftover bits of card and paper.
Yesterday afternoon was warm enough to have a barbecue food seems to taste better when cooked this way and eaten out of doors. It also makes planning a meal much more simple, husband loves hot spicy food, whilst James and I don't like it as hot as he does, I usually end up cooking 2 or 3 different meals at night.

Get Well Dude

I love both the sentiment and digi I used on this  card and think they are great for a guy's get well card, not at all sentimental  but poking a little fun at the male sexes attitude to minor ailments. When working I found men were good patients when they were really unwell, but could feel really sorry for themselves when they were actually getting better.

We were at the School Awards ceremony last night where our son received the award for Modern Studies. For a long time he spoke about studying politics then journalism at uni, then rather sheepishly announced that he didn't think uni was for him a few months ago. He's struggling to decide what he wants to do.

Red White and Green

I can never make my mind up as to whether I like white on white or not, but here is another attempt at it.

We had a beautiful day again yesterday marred only by a couple of really heavy downpours which lasted a few minutes, the garden needs the rain and the ground soaked it up really quickly.

It's a local holiday so hubby hasn't a school bus ran today , we are off to Aberdeen (50 miles south) for some shopping. When my husband retired he was really disgruntled during the first winter the school bus run morning and afternoon has made such a difference and although he had never worked with children before he enjoys it.

Xmas Wreath

This is a great way to use up trimmings of card left after cutting a 6x6 inch card base. I know the colours are anything but traditional but am pleased with the finished result. We had the best day of the year so far yesterday wall to wall sunshine but I wasn't feeling great so spent most of the day lying down, what a waste. We also had a shock on rising no water so we could only make a cuppa with the water in the kettle from the night before. A burst pipe at the local reservoir had meant the water was shut off the night before. Typically after hubby bought bottled water it came back on but that was about 2pm.

A Hug A Day

A very unusual card for Father's Day perhaps but it's the card I'm giving to my husband, the monsters referred to being our sons. No we don't want to keep them away it's lovely when our elder son visits, the younger lives at home, but when the 2 of them get together !!

I also made a bottle tag to go onto his bottle of whiskey.

This image is a freebie from Arthur's Clipart there a quite a few to choose from and they all look really jolly.
Lots of layers of card and paper, hopefully will count as a standard letter to post.

My elder son is coming home tonight for a few days and will be finalising the arrangements for a long weekend to London with his brother, I'm sure it will end up costing me!!

My second post for today, everyone has a long lie on a Sunday morning so I don't feel guilty spending my time crafting. It's just after 10 and hubby is awake but not on the go yet. James has been awake since 7am but is watching DVD's in bed.
Love this digi  I think these geese look worried are they wondering what's going to happen to them.

Happy Birthday

A really bright and bold card for my nieces birthday, as she works in Germany I don't think there's any chance of her seeing this.
We have a beautiful morning here in North East Scotland another great day for working in or enjoying sitting in the garden. When my son left school after his exams last week he said he was going to spend the next 4 years in bed, however he has been up at 7am most mornings and has been helping outside. He worked hard at school and the stress of the examinations made him grumpy and a bit reclusive, it's lovely to see him relaxing again.
